1 What it is
Forbidden Island is a collaborative (you either win as a team or lose as a
team) 4-player tabletop boardgame where each player’s game character
has a special ability which the team uses when strategically planning each
move to victory. The game is designed to play against your team, the
further on in the game you go, the more the game fights back.
2 What to expect
The 2-hour session starts with an introduction to the game, explaining the
rules of engagement, giving the audience an understanding of how to play
The next phase is playing the game which usually takes around 45
minutes. In this time, players get the hang of the game and start taking on
the sinking island. Tensions rise along with the water as teams excitedly
finish the game. Missing Link provides enough facilitators on site to assist
teams getting through the game.
Once the nerves have settled and the celebrations have quietened down,
we take the group through the lessons of the game, relating it back to the
objective of the overall event and various takeaways that they can apply in
everyday office life.
