Do Ideas: Little Gems From John Vlismas

John Vlismas

John Vlismas has never had a boss, so getting it done is the key to my ongoing freedom as he puts it in his piece in Do Ideas.  John’s piece is filled with gems here are my  favourites;

• Clear vision is vital, without it, your car is going to veer. Veering is bad for my business, as it spends resources without moving us toward “it”.

• Conviction is a beast. A double-edged sword, it’s good to have but beware- lest it savages you.

Be playful at work. A big believer in the right work environment, this point really resonates with me.  John’s short and sweet justification sums it up perfectly; it makes pressure bearable, and reminds you why we’re doing what we’re doing.

• Nerves- Johns advice: try to make sure you’re not working on a hair trigger – stand your ground.

Keeping your eyes on the prize gives you stamina and endurance.

And perhaps my favourite line:  Don’t be afraid of giants, their soft spots are much bigger than yours.

Well said John, well said.
